Named one of the best places to visit in the World by Lonely Planet, there are an endless number of things to see & do when you book holidays in North Wales with Eden Retreats.
There are simply so many things to see and do that short breaks in North Wales invariably are never enough. It is the newest visitor attractions which have opened in the area that particularly grabbed the attention of the Lonely Planet judges, with the most famous of these unquestionably being Zip World Penrhyn Quarry site. This is the fastest Zip Line in the world, with speeds of up to 100mph being achieved by those who are brave enough to take on this challenge.
Other Zip World locations include the Slate Caverns in Blaenau Ffestiniog where all the family will enjoy the fantastic bounce below experience. In addition to this, there is a separate site called Fforest near Betws-Y-Coed where you will find the family friendly Tree Hoppers experience alongside the adrenalin fuelled Skyride where you will go flying through the forest from 80ft up in the air. An amazing experience which isn’t to be missed!
However, it needn’t cost anything in order to have a good time. North Wales is famous for its seaside holiday locations including Talacre, Rhyl and Llandudno. Here, you can roll back the years to your childhood with your own family and enjoy some traditional fish and chips while the kids build a sandcastle.
You can also opt to swap the beach wear for hiking boots when you explore one of the many walking locations, with Snowdon perhaps being the most notable. With an elevation of 1,085 metres above sea level, this is the highest mountain in Wales and offers six stunning walking routes.
Those preferring something a little less challenging, can always explore one of the many historic landmarks in the area including Caernarfon Castle and the absolutely stunning picturesque Portmeirion.
