Fitted in the kitchen are all the necessities needed to complete your stay including a Range Cooker and American fridge freezer. In the dining room, the wood burner stove is nestled in the preserved stone wall adding charm to the property, all the while creating a cosy atmosphere once lit.
The triple aspect windows in the lounge soak up the natural light and the patio doors can be opened onto the decking outside to overlook the idyllic views, which can also be seen from the dining room.
Holding its purpose as a fantastic games area, the spacious landing is fitted with a football table as well as a range of toys and games.
Comfortably accommodating 10, the bedrooms are split over the three floors. Each bedroom has its own touch of personality; the lower ground floor bedroom is complete with a separate shower room and sauna.
The garden has steep steps as well as a pond so children must be supervised at all times. We don’t allow hen/stag parties.
The super-king bed on the lower ground floor can be split into 2 singles.
The large master bedroom on the first floor has a dressing area, an ensuite shower and a charming Juliet balcony with a wonderful view of the valley.
Panoramic views can be admired from the private garden as well as the sun decks and hot tub on the decking, creating the perfect space to relax. Southerly aspects means the cottage soaks up every ounce of sunshine from dawn to dusk all year round.
Valley View is surrounded by areas of outstanding natural beauty, providing the perfect base for you and your family and friends to explore the beautiful places North Devon has to offer. Wonderful woodland, countryside and coastal walks are right on the doorstep and at the end of the drive there is a footpath which links into the South West Coast path.
A 10 minute drive takes you to the start of Exmoor National Park which offers a fantastic day out for the whole family. Located a 5 minute drive away from Valley View is the vibrant seaside town of Ilfracombe. With 5 beaches and plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants, the live music that is regularly played completes the friendly atmosphere. Whether you enjoy walking, fishing, cycling or hiking, Ilfracombe provides the perfect location for many activities. Boat trips are also available for those who want to visit the beautiful island of Lundy, which is sure to be an experience to remember. Wonderful beaches less than 5 miles away also include Woolacombe and Lee Bay.
"I booked our holiday cottage via the internet. After leaving email address l waited for confirmation which l didn't appear to receive. I rang the helpline and the lovely people l spoke with were so helpful. The emails had gone to junk mail for some reason best left to the world of cyberspace! A lovely lady called Martha called me back to ensure all was well. It's that sort of personal touch that will take this new company a long way. We know how nice the accommodation is as we have stayed there when it was with a different company. On the service we have so far received l would highly recommend the company"
March 2021"Came across this site when looking for a holiday cottage. Found a great place at a great price. Cancellation and Covid rules were really easy to follow. Prompt online chat function even in the evening, very impressed with how helpful and straightforward everything has been."
March 2021"I have used many different holiday booking sites over the years mostly for cottages and I must say Eden Retreats is up there with the best of them. While not as wide a variety of properties as others they certainly have quality on a very high scale. Booking was a breeze with loads of photos to see what you will be going to and quick responses to email inquiries (I made a mistake in booking numbers, which was quickly resolved). Would definitely recommend and really looking forward to our holiday in July."
February 2021"Very well equipped and beautifully furnished house. Very comfy beds and lots of space so we could spread out. Hot tub was a particular hit. Highly recommended."
November"Well stocked, clean and very homely would love to go back!"
October"Comfortable, extremely well-equipped and in a great location."
October"A great base to explore the Devon coastline and also enjoy relaxing days in, whatever the weather. It is easy enough to walk into Ilfracombe or get a taxi for a reasonable price, the company we used came right to the door. Kevin made sure everything was ok with us and sums up the friendliness of the local people! The house was set up perfectly for a dog with secure large gardens so no need to worry about them escaping! Hot tub was a lovely touch and maintained regularly so always clean."
September"Everything and more that you could need or want, views are outstanding, ideal setting for families and loads of places to go that are local. Kevin and Jackie were always on hand and our welcome from them was lovely. Would love to go back as the hot tub is a must. I took my daughters, son in laws and two three year olds and it was so set up for us all. One word that sums it all up is WOW."
August"I would highly recommend Valley View, spacious, clean, the hot tub was checked regularly. The views from the lounge are so relaxing. Kevin the maintenance manager had to come in a couple of times, he always picked the times that we were out, so a very big thank you."
August"We didn't need for anything as the house is so well equipped, so much space and every comfort thought of. Kevin and Jackie the caretakers were wonderful and the added bonus of fresh eggs every day from their hens was great. Would definitely return God Willing."
July"The accommodation was, I believe, the best equipped that we've ever stayed in. Also the caretakers of the property could not have been more helpful. Both lovely people. If we ever wanted to visit that area again we would definitely aim for this property. I would certainly highly recommend it. The hot-tub was the icing on the cake!"
June"Aptly named as it really does have a great view of the Valley. The cottage is very well set up for families with young children. We had three all below 5 years old and we all had a great time. The hot tub was used every day and is perfectly placed on the south facing balcony. Just a few minutes drive from Ilfracombe centre it is far enough away to be peaceful but close enough to get all your supplies. It has a lovely homely feel and has absolutely everything you could need. Even fresh eggs for breakfast from the nearby chickens. The furniture has a quality feel and everything is in perfect condition. With all the bedrooms in different parts of the house there was enough space for three small families to have their own space. We will definitely be returning."
