Based on an old dairy farm, The Milking Parlour hosts a contemporary stay for family and friends, with luxury facilities such as the hot tub and large enclosed garden.
Located just outside Sheffield city centre, the barn is encompassed by lush countryside with plenty of walks to explore and a short drive to the Peak District.
Tastefully furnished, the ground floor comprises a spacious living room with a log burner, a TV and access to the garden. A bright kitchen has all the essentials needed to cook delicious homemade meals to feast on the dining table.
Upstairs are three luxury bedrooms with king-sized beds provided with white linen, fluffy bath towels and separate hot tub towels. One of the bedrooms has a shower ensuite whilst the other two share a bathroom with a bathtub and overhead shower.
Spend quality time with the family outside in the large, fenced off garden with stunning views of the valley from the outdoor furniture and sheltered hot tub; that fits six guests and can be used all year round, rain or shine!
Every time one of our luxury breaks is booked we calculate the total amount of CO₂ produced, and plant enough trees to create a net-zero carbon footprint.

Shady Hall Farm
Shady Hall Farm consists of three beautifully renovated properties; The Milking Parlour, The Cow Shed (sleeping 6) and The Stone Barn (sleeping 8) that when booked together, creates an unforgettable escape for up to 20 guests. Please note, dogs are only welcome in The Stone Barn and therefore must remain solely in this property and its garden.
The Milking Parlour and The Cow Shed have adjoining gardens, sectioned off via a gate. The gate is locked unless two parties wish to book these properties together and combine the outdoor spaces.
Book with confidence with a 25% deposit, and pay your balance 8 weeks before. If you need to change your break, just let us know - we don't charge any fees.
The Local Area
The Milking Parlour is a fantastic base for exploring the glorious Yorkshire countryside and unspoiled farmland or venturing into the city of Sheffield or Chesterfield, only a 20 minute drive away. At the bottom of the farm driveway, there is a bus stop providing a rural service that goes into Sheffield city centre, hop on and enjoy the ride. You’ll be spoilt for choice with places to eat during your stay, with plenty of restaurants and bars in Sheffield city centre and numerous local pubs and restaurants closer to the barn. For the walking enthusiasts, travel slightly further afield to the Peak District and uncover gorgeous walking routes or enjoy exploring the local walks that can be found via the footpaths leading off from the farmland.
